The International Youth and Education Program (IYEP) is a leader in programs with cross-cultural orientation in Ghana. It is the office representing the reputable worldwide movement of Federation of Experiment in International Living.
The Federation of Experiment in International Living (EIL) has the noble aim of promoting peace and understanding through cultural exchanges. We believe that, as people live together, they begin to understand each other's behavioral patterns. The EIL has pursued this objective since 1932, sending thousands of young and old people yearly across the world. They engage in work and travel programs, community service programs, voluntary programs, language training or living with a host family in a foreign culture. UNESCO has recognized the contribution our organization is making and has labeled the Experiment a “Peace messenger”.
The IYEP was founded in 1994 with five board members who steer the affairs of the organization. All members of the board have a commitment to helping young people broaden their horizons.
To achieve this, IYEP in collaboration with WORLDLEARNING INC. in the United States completed seven basic school blocks in various communities (Asante Mampong, Mprumem, Amoada Prasso, Akwatia Gomoa Fetteh among others) in Ghana through our community service program. Since July 2001, the IYEP is developing another project for an orphanage school in Agroyesum in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
IYEP is registered under the laws of the Republic of Ghana as company limited by guarantee. (Registered number 56,697 August 1994.)
